Job Description

We are looking for a talented Data Analyst with a passion for sustainability to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, with a focus on Carbon metrics and data. They will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting Carbon data from various internal and external sources to provide actionable and reliable insights and supply chain data  to EcoVadis customers to drive effective decision-making. It will feed EcoVadis’ products and services, ensuring the highest data quality and trust in the carbon data network.

The Carbon Data Analyst key responsibilities include: 

  • Support development and implementation of data validation methodology, using data-driven insights to drive progress and accountability
  • Data collection and organization: Collect, integrate, and organize carbon data from various sources, including company reports, databases, and third-party providers, as well as organizing carbon data from our internal (Metrics) database.
  • Proxy Data Modeling: Create and maintain methodology to model carbon data proxies for sectors where data might be incomplete, as well as creating models for estimating robustness of targets and target achievement.  These models may incorporate factors such as industry type, geographical location, company size, and other relevant variables. Document methodologies, assumptions and sources used for proxy modeling. Proficiency with AI-based tools is an asset.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze carbon performance metrics, such as carbon emissions, energy usage and target progress etc., to identify trends, patterns, and areas for data quality improvement to increase the accuracy of validation results. 
  • Database Management: Develop and maintain databases and data management systems to effectively store and manage carbon data and corresponding requests.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 2-3  years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on ESG and sustainability data.
  • Expertise in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, Databricks, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of GHG accounting standards such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 1064, TCFD, etc, as well as regulations such as CSRD, CBAM, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Passion for sustainability and carbon stewardship, with a desire to make a positive impact through data-driven solutions.
