Job Summary

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, extract and analyze data, create reports, and design visualizations. Work with end users and software vendors to administer and support assigned business applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, define important metrics, recommend best solutions, identify trends and anomalies, and update reports based on feedback.
2. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including SQL Server Data Warehouse, data lakes, and other data repositories.
3. Develop and maintain reports and interactive dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI to provide stakeholders with relevant information.
4. Implement data virtualization techniques to efficiently access and integrate data from disparate sources.
5. Work with the data engineering team to design and optimize data pipelines.
6. Collaborate with data architects to ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
7. Assist in data modeling and create tabular data models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
8. Monitor data performance and troubleshoot any issues related to data processing or reporting.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline
2. 4 to 6 years of experience as a Data Analyst or related role.
(Certification in Power BI or SQL Server and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms is preferred)
3. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data.
b. Experience with ETL processes, including data cleansing and transformation.
c. Knowledge of data virtualization concepts and tools.
d. Understanding of data lakehouse and data fabric architectures.
e. Familiar with creating dashboard reports, status reports, infographics, and other data visualizations.
f. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
g. Strong communication and analytical skills with a focus on meeting customer’s needs.
