We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Data and Information Governance Manager to join the Chief Data Office on a 9 month secondment basis!

The successful candidate can be based in one of our UK offices. The role qualifies for hybrid working, with a combination of office and home working. 

As part of your role, you will assist in the assurance of information & data assets within National Highways and our supply chain. You will also support the management of National Highways policy for the management of data & information assets to support delivery of corporate objectives.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Assisting in the production and maintenance of company policy and strategy for data, information and records to deliver the company strategic objectives
  • Playing an active role in developing data leadership throughout the company Contribute to the specification of required competences and mentor and challenge data and information professionals in all parts of National Highways
  • Supporting the development of technical recommendations arising from formal investigations and other investigations into significant safety or performance affecting failures
  • Applying the data and information assurance regime to verify the condition and performance of data and information assets for business teams and the supply chain
  • Providing support and advice for compliance with our records management obligations
  • Assisting in implementing technical recommendations arising from formal investigations and other investigations into significant safety or performance affecting failures
     

To be successful you’ll need
 

  • Experience of using the most appropriate medium to visualise data to tell compelling and actionable stories relevant for business goals. Experience presenting and communicating data appropriately.
  • Understanding of data governance. Capable of taking responsibility for the assurance of data solutions and making recommendations to ensure compliance. 
  • Understand the impact of emerging trends on the organisation in data tools, analysis techniques and data usage. 
  • Experience developing / setting / implementing data standards across multiple subject areas. 
  • Experience of responding to problems in databases, data processes, data products and services as they occur.
