PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The AI Engineer role at interactive investor is integral to the Data and Innovation team's mission to leverage AI and advanced technologies for strategic advantage. Tasked with building intelligent systems, this role is pivotal in transforming large datasets into actionable insights and automated processes that benefit both business-facing users and customers. The AI Engineer's remit extends to developing innovative solutions that not only streamline internal operations but also revolutionise the customer experience. Through the creation of sophisticated algorithms, the AI Engineer enhances interactive investor's offerings, enabling smarter investment decisions and personalised customer interactions. This role is not only about maintaining a competitive edge; it's about setting new industry standards through the ethical and creative application of AI, ensuring that every stakeholder reaps the benefits of cutting-edge innovation.

In this capacity, the AI Engineer will work closely with various teams, including product, technology, commercial, customer service, and operations, to identify opportunities where AI can add tangible value. By translating complex business requirements into advanced AI-driven tools and solutions, the role contributes to both top-line growth and bottom-line efficiency. The AI Engineer is expected to lead the charge in automating routine tasks, uncovering deep insights from customer data, and crafting predictive models that anticipate market trends and customer needs. Through these initiatives, interactive investor aims to deliver a superior user experience and smarter financial solutions, fostering a culture of innovation that resonates with every user interaction and positions the company as a visionary leader in the financial technology space.

As an AI Engineer, you will be required to continuously hone your skills and expand your expertise with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will bring innovative solutions to the forefront, leveraging tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and other AI technologies. Your role will also involve integrating AI capabilities with data analytics platforms and tools like SQL, Snowflake, and cloud services from providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP to ensure that our solutions are scalable, efficient, and cutting-edge.

Your innovations will not only improve current systems but also pave the way for new opportunities that keep interactive investor at the forefront of the fintech industry. And, by enhancing our AI-driven features and services, you will play a critical role in delivering a more personalised and intuitive customer experience, driving the optimisation of our products, and contributing to the overall growth of the business.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • AI Strategy and Solutions: Design and implement algorithms and AI solutions that align with our AI strategy to solve complex business challenges and drive innovation
  • Data Science and Management: Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams to design, implement, and maintain comprehensive data collection, preprocessing, and analysis systems for building and optimising AI models
  • Model Development and Training: Develop scalable and efficient training pipelines for AI models, emphasising rapid iteration and deployment to meet business needs
  • Innovation and R&D: Partner with the Innovation and Strategy teams to participate in and help lead innovation, R&D, and ii/x labs experiments
  • AI Research and Trends: Stay abreast of the latest AI trends and research, applying this knowledge to practical AI applications for the business
  • AI Optimisation and Troubleshooting: Continuously troubleshoot and refine AI models to improve performance and adapt to evolving business requirements
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of AI solutions, from functional and process design to prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures
  • Ethical AI Development: Develop and maintain ethical frameworks and guidelines for AI use, ensuring that all AI initiatives meet high ethical standards
  • Communication and Reporting: Effectively communicate AI concepts and progress to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency, particularly in collaboration with the Data Analytics team
  • Knowledge Sharing and Leadership: Disseminate AI best practices and insights on emerging technologies, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and expertise within the team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential

  • AI and Machine Learning: Strong foundation in AI and machine learning algorithms with a proven track record of implementing solutions that solve business problems
  • Data Science and Management: Proficiency in data collection, preprocessing, and analysis, with experience in managing large datasets and building classifiers
  • Software Development: Solid experience in software development with expertise in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C/C++
  • Model Training: Experience with developing training pipelines for machine learning models and knowledge of frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Innovation and R&D: Demonstrated involvement in R&D projects, with the ability to innovate and stay current with emerging technologies
  • System Integration: Ability to integrate AI solutions into existing business processes and systems effectively
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Familiarity with managing the full lifecycle of software development projects, including design, prototyping, testing, and deployment
  • Ethics in AI: Knowledge of ethical considerations in AI and experience in developing guidelines and frameworks for responsible AI use

Desirable

  • Collaborative Projects: Experience working in collaborative environments, especially in cross-functional teams or innovation labs
  • Industry Knowledge: Awareness of the financial services industry, including regulatory and compliance standards

Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
